I wrote this a long time ago for an rp but never finished it,
The City of Aberon was in sight. Soon enough they reached the city,
They set up camp outside of the City's weapons.
It was evening.
Stek was in his tent when his guard brought in a messenger from their capital. Stek roared in laughter at the man seeing as he was bony and weak, Stek then looked at the man "Speak boy, or your life could depend on it"
The man stuttered "H-h-h-h-hello C-c-c-comannd-d-d-der" Stek smacked the man round the back of the head "Speak properly lad", The man then talked properly "I come on behalf of the city of Aberon, The lord wishes to speak with you on terms in neutral ground" Stek thought about this for a while and agreed "Tell him to meet me tommorow in the middle of the gap between this camp and your city" The man stumbled out of the tent and Stek laughed as the man ran so fast. He turned to his second in command "Start construction of the towers, battering rams, trebuchets and catapults" Stek stood and thought again, "Add some ladders as well".
The second in command walked out and Stek heard him barking out orders, "This city shall be ours, by the end of this month their heads will be on the top of spears and on top of my wall".
Tomorrow quickly came and midday approached. Stek marched out to the middle of the two places with his second in command; the enemy commander was already there and was waiting for him.
The enemy commander laughed when he saw Stek, "I am facing a dwarf, and this will be interesting"
Stek replied "Be careful what you say boy, this hammer doesn't like offence"
The commander turned serious "What are your terms?"
"If you surrender, every 1 in 3 men shall be sold to slavery and the woman and children spared" Stek smiled darkly.
"We refuse" barked the commander, "leave now or you shall surely die".
"Then a fight it shall be" Stek replied back
Stek walked back to his camp and the commander walked to his city.
"Hold off their supply lines, and keep watch on their movements.
Morning came and the men were ready, Wall 2 was going to be harder than wall 1 and Stek knew it.
"We shall use the ladders and the battering rams to get past this one; we must send the nomads first, so let’s go"
Stek ordered his captains to arrange their solders into place. Stek screamed the order again to advance, men moved to the beat of the drums, Stek shouted out another order, "CHARGE!!"
The nomads charged into the killing ground blinded by their lust for battle. The men of Aberon fired arrows quickly in confusion of the nomads’ blind charge hundreds of nomads fell. Steks men reached the walls and brought out the ladders that were picked up everytime someone was killed, the battering ram quickly followed and started to bang against the large door. Stek and his elites were already on the wall as the door was broken and men swarmed through killing all in their path.
Stek smashed his Hammer into the side of a man's skull. The man's head came off and the head landed on the bottom on the wall with a look of horror upon the man's face. The body fell to its knees with blood spurting out of the neck like a fountain. Stek laughed and kicked the body and rammed into the combat once more. A sword thrusted at Stek, Stek dodged passed it and the man fell forward, Stek punched the man in the stomach onto one of his friend’s spears. The man screamed as he was impaled but he quickly was silence as blood started to drip from his mouth. The spearman holding the spear dropped it in shock and ran but the man ran off the edge of the wall and a loud crack was audible. Stek laughed to see the man.
A blast of heat and screams of Stek's men echoed, Stek looked to see what was happening, a mage dressed in red looked at Stek and grinned, so did the Aberon defenders standing behind the mage.
"Bah Mages" Spat Stek.
The mage launched another fireball, this time towards Stek, Stek swung to the side to dodge it but it caught one of his beard hairs which tingled as it burnt. Stek picked up a spear on the ground and launched it at the mage, the mage ducked to dodge the spear and the spear impaled a swordsman behind him, the mage turned round to see the man, the swordsman looked in shock and pointed to where Stek was. The mage looked round and saw the dwarf standing right next to him and the mage's face turned to a look of horror, Stek raised his Hammer and smashed it into the mage's face. It crumpled the hat on top of his head and the skull shortly followed, the defenders looked at the dwarf in horror but as they did Steks soldiers rammed into their lines slaughtering them as the defenders looked in disbelief. Soon enough wall 2 was captured.
The days went by of constant skirmishes in between wall 2 and 1. The losses on both sides were large, Stek spat on the ground, soon the main attack would come and he would be in charge of it, Stek saw the eyes of the enemy and saw their leaders on the wall, they matched his stare as Stek gave a little wave.
Stek laughed as he pulled out a delicate silk cloth and started to rub the blood off his warhammer which was the blood of a failed assassination attempt on his life. Stek looked at the towering keep, "I shall sit on that throne with the skulls of their dead by tomorrow night" Stek vowed. Stek looked at the sky as it turned orange; He went into his tower chamber for the night. He needed to be awake for tomorrows decider.
