I know we all like to make new people feel welcome but most threads have 4 pages and that's really unnecessary it sounds like I'm being mean but saying hello and a response is pretty much is all that is needed
Oh, has anyone heard about that new...
Nope, just kidding. It's true that they make a spamland topic out of every welcoming thread, but that only makes it more welcoming and warm in my opinion.
I do think that a little bit of silly is a good thing
but Alfie is defiantly wright, if you go to the last pages of any of the more resent welcomes there is a discussion going on that has no attachment with the initial post that the newcomer made whatsoever.
Now thats just rude and unprofessional i find it unlikely that the creator of the thread enjoys returning to find that a bunch of loonies have turned they're simple hello into a pigsty.
I'm perfectly willing to take a discussion somewhere else, as long as the admin locking the thread opens another with all the posts from the welcoming thread in it to keep it up-to-date.
And I primarily mean you, Nara.
Well if you don't want that to happen, you shouldn't go off topic then ;D
Goowd work nara

(also for alfie for makin' this thread)
But Nara locks everything :<
Then you should make your own thread regarding that specific topic you were talking about in the locked thread.
Well that's just too much trouble, you'll and other people having the conversation will be like: "Never mind". And an automatic porting function shouldn't be so hard... right?
Not really, the SC17 forums will have it, I think this forum is the same format (more-or-less) and it's easy enough transporting the posts.
