Extract from a short fan fic I'm writing after re-playing all the Homeworld games. I'll probably finish this one, and I deleted the documents accidentally for the others so yeah.

Also, lemme just say that Vaygr Flagships and Battlecruisers are absolutely MASSIVE (Pics at the bottom)

"This is Blue One, awaiting instructions" said Captain Moban over the radio

"Roger that Blue One, proceed to the outskirts of the Dust cloud, Captain Ka'Shaan and Dorava are waiting with their Destroyers, out" said Commander Karla of the Shipyard Sha'Kaara

Captain Moban repeated the order to the rest of the attack force, and he accelerated towards the Destroyer group. They were assaulting a Vaygr Battlefleet headed towards the Hiigaran Homeworld. Success was vital. Accompanying Moban was 10 squads of Interceptor Fighters, 5 Bomber squads, 7 Pulsar gunships and 3 Heavy Assault Frigates. Not far behind was the rest of the attack force, which consisted mostly of the Marine Frigates carrying the boarding teams. He was in charge of the Command Frigate, which he had nicknamed Keren.

After 10 minutes, the group finally arrived at the Destroyers, who were waiting at the edge of the Dust Cloud. They both had 10 Interceptor squads in each one, meaning that the total number of Interceptors was 30, they were all armed with the best technology the Hiigarans had. The Science team aboard the Keren scanned the Dust Cloud, and sure enough there were traces of moving object within, rather large ones too. A couple of minutes passed and the last of the attack group finally arrived, and the group headed into the Dust Cloud. As they did, they saw the huge outline of what looked like a Vaygr Flagship, with 2 Battlecruisers as escort, there was also 2 Carriers, a Shipyard, and the Carriers, Flagship and Battlecruisers would have large amounts of Fighters, Bombers, Frigates and Corvettes in the docking bays.

Sure enough, the alarms went off on the Keren, then a female voice came over saying that there has been a lock on, the ship activated its shields, as it did an Ion cannon tracer flew past it, narrowly missing one of the Destroyers. The Battlecruisers had opened fire. Another slight laster flew past, grew bigger and bigger until a huge electromagnetic pulse flew past, they tried to fire EMPs at the ships, trying to disable the Shield generators, weapons and lighting.

"All ships, fire at will, I repeat, fire at will" said Captain Moban calmly. As he did, he could see the bridge light up as the Destroyers charged their cannons, not soon after the huge explosion of the cannons firing started up, and flashes appeared in the Dust cloud, then larger explosions. The Destroyers repeated their steps, except this time one of the Battlecruisers got a lucky shot on Captain Dorova's Destroyer, causing it to dip starboard-ways, fires had spread on the ship's side.

"This is Captain Dorova, we're evacuating. All hands abandon ship, I repeat, abando-" Captain Dorova was cut short by a final Ion Cannon that hit the bridge, and another hitting the ammo magazine, causing the ship to violently shake, a few seconds later a bright light appeared near the port-side, causing Captain Moban to cover his eyes. The sound of the ammo's Chemical elements mixing with each other roared through Moban's ears, then finally the light disappeared, Moban looked to see very few large chunks of the ship floating through space, most of the ship would have been torn apart in the explosion. The loss of the Destroyer was a huge blow, and they still had to take down a Flagship and 2 Battlecruisers.
