When I'm alone and not playing a game, I find myself just pondering and thinking ideas.

Well out of the dozens, I have a really good idea (Maybe).

Presenting TF2's new gamemode, Sabotage!

It's pretty much Capture the Flag, but you need to carry the flag into the enemy intel room for it to cap.

It's a backwards kind of thing. I thought it would be a good idea because it's as easy as switching the flags and capture points of another CTF map.

I'm trying this with 2Fort as we speak. If people give it enough support, I'll make the flag model a bomb to make it more like you're Sabotaging the enemy base.

Tell me your thoughts.

[EDIT] My description is a bit vague, so here's a better one.

CTF doesn't really have to be explained. Although I do have a video for a quick reference.





Sabotage:

Sabotage is pretty much CTF, but with a twist.

In CTF, you get the enemy flag from the enemy base and bring it back to your base to get a point

In Sabotage, you're trying to get your flag (If popular enough, I will make a bomb model for the flag) into the enemy base, and the enemy team is doing the same.

To get a point in Sabotage, you have to get your flag into the enemy's flag area (kind of like CTF).

Tell me if you need a better description.
I like the idea. It'd give your enemy more chances to stop you, but, how obvious would it be that you had the bomb? Because if it was very obvious even if people were a "distraction", wouldn't everyone just aim for the bomb guy? Also everyone would be on the defensive and there would be sentries up the wazoo.
It's a quick idea that needs to be buffed and shined. That's why I posted here, to get feedback from other people.
Why don't we just try this first? There's plenty of people willing to host. :D

The flag should have a selectable model for each team to choose, be it a portable sentry, a sandwich, a machine gun, a grenade, or a pair of flaming pants. (just ideas, actual models can be discussed later)
Would this be a down-loadable gamemode similar to ones in garrysmod, or would it be a stand alone game running on the source engine?
I could try my hand at modeling, though depending if I go into Starcraft II mapping, I may already have my plate full. What I think I could really do to help is texturing, I have a graphics tablet and love to fuck around with photoshop.
I would do the models. I have Rhino and my dad knows how to model.

As for the "programming", it's as simple as flipping the intelligence and cap areas to the other team. Simple as that. I was doing that, but had to dig some post-holes for a fence. Horse keeps eating all the grass.

If you could do textures that would be fantastic.
I like this idea, its sneaky, so you have to be careful of everything.
What's amazing is that it's so simple in design. You take one gamemode, put it in reverse, and you keep a whole new gamemode.

I got an altered version of 2Fort almost ready.

Actually, I was refering to just plainly testing the flipped version of teufort without fancy models.
Well Hammer doesn't like me apparently, so I'll mess with it tomorrow.
